Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the drawt mobile app ("drawt", "the app") handles your information. In short: your drawings stay on your device. We do not have user accounts and we do not run servers that collect your content. The only personal data involved comes from the advertising and payment services described below.
1. Who is responsible
drawt is developed by Estudio Barneto, the trade name of Alberto Barneto, based in Spain, who is the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Contact: drawt.app@gmail.com
2. What stays on your device
Everything you create in drawt is processed locally on your phone and is never sent to us:
- Drawings and animations, including the order and timing of your strokes.
- Photos you choose as a background or tracing guide, and stickers you add from your gallery or clipboard.
- Videos generated by the app. They are created on your device and temporarily stored in the app's cache until you export a new one.
- A small counter of exported videos, used only to decide when to show an ad in the free version.
When you share a video, you choose the destination (for example WhatsApp, Instagram, email or your photo library) through your phone's share menu. From that moment, the video is handled by that app or service under its own privacy policy.
3. Permissions
- Photos / media library: only to let you pick an image as a background or sticker, and to save videos if you choose that option. We only access the images you select.
- Clipboard: only when you tap "Paste" to add a sticker. Your phone may ask for permission each time.
- Tracking (iOS only): to ask whether you allow the use of your device's advertising identifier for personalised ads. You can refuse, and the app works exactly the same.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of drawt shows a full-screen ad from time to time. Ads are provided by Google AdMob (in the European Economic Area, by Google Ireland Limited). To serve, measure and limit the frequency of ads, and to prevent fraud, Google may collect information such as:
- your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA, the latter only with your permission),
- your IP address and approximate location derived from it,
- device information (model, operating system, language),
- information about how you interact with the ads.
Your choices: if you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before showing personalised ads. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalised ads, which use limited data. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy options in the app. On iOS you can also manage tracking in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Google's use of data is governed by its own policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
5. In-app purchases
drawt may offer a one-time purchase to remove ads. Payments are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your card or payment details. We only receive confirmation that a purchase was made, so the app can unlock the premium features and restore them if you reinstall the app.
6. Legal basis
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for personalised advertising and for accessing your device's advertising identifier.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for showing non-personalised ads to fund the free version and for preventing ad fraud.
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for processing your purchase if you buy the premium version.
7. International transfers
Google and the app stores may process data outside the EEA, including in the United States. These transfers are covered by the safeguards those companies apply, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long data is kept
We do not store your personal data. Content on your device stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app. Data collected by Google or the app stores is kept according to their own retention policies.
9. Children
drawt is not directed at children under 13, or under the minimum age of digital consent in your country (14 in Spain). We do not knowingly allow children under that age to consent to personalised advertising.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Because we do not hold your personal data ourselves, requests about advertising data are best handled through your ad choices in the app and through your Google account settings. You can always write to us at drawt.app@gmail.com and we will help.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos) or with the authority in your country.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when adding new features. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
